Teen Leadership Program
Teen Volunteer Program
Open to High School Freshman & Sophomores
Each year we approach graduating elementary campers and local high school students about volunteering for a camp.
They are professionally interviewed and those whom we believe are responsible are hired to work as teaching assistants for eight weeks.
We hire between 10-15 teens each summer. Surprisingly, these teens commit to serving our camp 8 hours a day, five days a week.
For eight weeks they are given the opportunity to:
1. Develop leadership skills by leading morning assembly which enhances their speaking skills, organization skills, and ability to deal with children.
2. Gain valuable work experience prior to legally becoming of working age by prepping lesson plans for teachers, maintaining order in classrooms, and assisting with teaching.
3. Collect over 300 community service hours for the upcoming school year.
